One Cover One Word

One Cover One Word | Paul Weller

In this One Cover One Word interview, we get Paul Weller’s immediate reaction to a surprise selection of albums that have inspired him over the years.

A cover says a lot, but let’s keep it brief. With One Cover One Word, Qobuz meets with artists to get a candid and quick reaction to a few hand-picked surprise covers.

Ever since his debut with The Jam in 1977, Paul Weller has constantly been finding new ways to keep everyone guessing, slaloming between different styles and genres, never content to simply follow the same formula again and again. Whether it’s The Jam, The Style Council or his solo work, the Modfather’s discography will take you in all sorts of directions. Having only recently released his 17th solo studio album, 66, we presented Mr. Weller with an eclectic mix of album covers that have made an impression on him through the years and perhaps contributed to the eclecticism in his own music.
